How do councils measure their success?

In July, months after the local elections, Redbridge Council published a four-year plan setting out four priorities: safe and healthy, clean and green, jobs and skills, homes and neighbourhoods. To measure its performance Redbridge promised to publish quarterly performance reports measuring 50 key performance indicators and an annual state of the borough report.

The first report was due in "autumn 2022" but no sign of it yet.

Yesterday a Met officer was found to have committed rape, violence and coercive control of two female colleagues by a disciplinary panel. The panel "granted anonymity" to him during proceedings for "health reasons". The @metpoliceuk told me this..

officer's anonymity was allowed under reg. 27A of the Police Regulations 2012. They say the media have "no entitlement" to read the order, or to make challenge it. They did send this highlighted extract, implying that the "condition" of the hearing being public was anonymity

I'm dialled into Westminster Magistrates' Court today to see if it's even possible to report from a magistrates' court remotely.

Court admin staff now very helpful and aware that reporters can dial into cases, they gave out the number as soon as our request was heard. It's very difficult to hear what's going on.

The phone is beside the legal advisor who comes through very clearly. Judge is less clear (even though he is projecting his voice).

The defendant's voice was very unclear, I couldn't hear a word from the one who appeared so far.
