Your local entities are finalizing their property tax rates for the year. Everyone promises they’ll lower property taxes and yet homeowners don’t feel relief – why? A few facts: If leaders in Austin followed the Texas Constitution (Art. VII, Sec. 1) & properly funded the “support & maintenance of an efficient system of public schools” your prop tax bills would be cut in half.

Lots of talk this weekend about property taxes. Under LtGov Patrick’s leadership, property tax bills have skyrocketed. Local leaders aren’t the problem - it’s the state not paying their fair share to educate our children and pay for their public safety responsibilities. Tarrant County’s and citizens all over Texas are being taxed twice for the services the state is responsible for.
