The Galerie Vivienne, built in 1823, is one of the covered passages of #Paris 🇫🇷 located in the 2nd arrondissement and a hidden #gem. It is 176 metres long and 3 metres wide.
The #architect Francois Jean Delannoy conceived the #decor in #neoclassical #Pompeian #style covered with an #elegant canopy, with #mosaics, #paintings and #sculptures exalting #trade.

The Place des Vosges, Paris's oldest square, has a rich history spanning from its creation in the early 17th century to its present-day status. Initially named Place Royale, it was designed by King Henry IVas part of a larger urban planning initiative, aiming to modernize Paris.
The square was inaugurated in 1612 and became a favorite spot for the French nobility. In 1800, Napoleon Bonaparte renamed the square Place des Vosges in #Paris 🇫🇷 in honor of the Vosges department, but later in 1870 its name was restored and has remained in use since.

1- The #Trevi Fountain (and a #bird). Its origins take us back to 19 BC, when the famous fountain was just the end point of the smallest aqueduct in #Rome 🇮🇹 known as Aqua Virgo, which had been active for over 2,000 years. 2- In the 15th century a simple fountain was built on the site; in 1629 Pope Urban VIII decided to replace it by a beautiful new one built against the Palazzo Poli, with Neptune as its central figure. 1- The Royal Cistercian #Chaalis #Abbey was an abbey located 49,4 km north of Paris, at Fontaine-Chaalis. It was founded in 1136 by Louis VI of France. There had previously been a Benedictine monastery in the same place. 2- Most of the buildings fell into ruins but miraculously among the ruins, a #Gothic abbot’s chapel survived. Among its treasures are a series of #frescoes attributed to the 16th century Italian 🇮🇹 Mannerist #painter Francesco #Primaticcio.
