I just got an ATIP response that details how @DFO_Pacific handled this interview request, and some corrections are in order.

First, some background: I requested an interview about what DFO was doing about its problem if workplace harassment and abuse. The story eventually ran in @thenarwhalca and @VICE. thenarwhal.ca/dfo-response-f…

It drew on more than 700 pages of internal documents and emails, detailing DFO's quiet but real response to the allegations. They changed national policy.

But nobody was allowed to talk.

I like to think of the BC government press conference hold music as the opening act. Just a classical guitarist and violinist warming up the audience before being abruptly hooked off stage when the ministers arrive Stanwick, Eby and Helps have taken the stage to talk about homelessness and COVID

I mostly just have questions Image What's especially troubling about this is that the reach of these emails does suggest that someone, somewhere, has acquired or is compiling a list of Canadian journalists to harass. The person is stupid, thankfully, but they also seem organized.

Can we talk real quick about cnidophages? No seriously this is worth it. This is my story I tell when people ask me for my best animal fact.

You may have seen pictures of pretty sea slugs like these blue sea dragons before. But they have a secret. They, like other species of sea slug, eat cnidarians like jellyfish, hydroids and sea anemones — creatures with stinging cells. But they do not get stung.

(Here's another one, Hermissenda crassicornis. I did research on this one's brain in my undergrad.)

I'm listening through the archive of the radio chatter on the #seatac hijacking. Below are some of the clips. I'm going through this as quickly as I can. Please bear with me.
