Here's a truth nuke for you: I fully believe that the people in the DPRK have more freedom than almost anyone who isn't wealthy in the imperial core. With their basic needs taken care of, they are free from the crushing effects of poverty. 1/
With a robust jobs training and education system, they are free to pursue their own interests and passions. Don't like your job? You just need to apply to change it and complete the training successfully. There's no student debt, and no sense of being "trapped" in a certain path

Crazy idea: let's forcibly partition a country while bombing one half of it to complete destruction and killing millions in a span of 3 years. Then let's place the worst sanctions in history on one half and constantly mobilize so-called "war games" near their border

Today is the anniversary of the start of the Jeju Uprising (1948-1949). The people of Jeju Island organized a mass strike to protest what they saw as rigged elections in the US-occupied south. The response was an "eradication campaign" that killed 10% of the island's population.
The South Korean government covered up and suppressed information about the massacre until a Truth and Reconciliation committee published a report in 2003.
