एक बार तुलसीदास जी महाराज को किसी ने बताया की जगन्नाथ जी मैं तो साक्षात भगवान के ही दर्शन होते हैं।
बस फिर क्या था सुनकर तुलसीदास जी महाराज तो बहुत ही प्रसन्न हुए और अपने इष्टदेव का दर्शन करने श्रीजगन्नाथपुरी को चल दिए।

12/1 महीनों की कठिन और थका देने वाली यात्रा के बाद जब वह जगन्नाथ पुरी पहुंचे तो मंदिर में भक्तों की भीड़ देख कर प्रसन्न हुए।
जगन्नाथ जी का दर्शन करते ही उन्हें बड़ा धक्का सा लगा वह निराश हो गये।
