I often reflect on @LeonardPittsJr1 piece on MLK:

"Fear purchased the gun.
Delusion loaded it.
Ignorance adjusted the sight.
Intolerance pulled the trigger.
Fifty years ago, those forces killed the man.
They have sought ever since to kill the memory.”

miamiherald.com/opinion/opn-co… They kill the memory when they hack "I Have a Dream" into palatable platitudes while destroying everything he stood for. They kill the memory when they whitewash his radical views. They kill the memory when prop up a rose-colored version of him as proof we "beat racism"

Something that bummed me out this morning: I see #AmyCooper's name across my timeline and trending (for good reason) but had to search and click into several articles before seeing #GeorgeFloyd's name and not just "a black man killed by police". Even with his name, there are so many names that even when we #SayHisName it feels drowned out. I can't even begin to understand how that fatigue/trauma feels to a black person. I have a lot more in common with Amy Cooper yet feel discouraged as to what I can do in all of this.

My sister is a teacher in Chico and many of her students, friends and colleagues have lost everything in the #campfireparadise. Her and my nephew are safe (minus some smoke inhalation) and are organizing relief efforts. She has shared some input on what is needed: The biggest need now is monetary. Town is inundated with physical donations at this point that take up space and volunteer resources.

She suggests donating to:
- Her school drive
- North Valley Community Foundation,
- North Valley Animal Disaster Group

This is a story from when I was young, and first shared 3 yrs ago: My dad is a garbage man and has worked for a private, not city run, company for over 20 years. This company is owned by an Italian American family. Employed at this company are a large number of Mexican Americans One particularly grueling role in the industry is the MRF line, or Materials Recovery Facility to receive, separate and prepare recyclables from all incoming trash. The majority of the employees at our MRF are Mexican women. Mothers, sisters, daughters.

Y'all know I have a lot of feelings so today is a lot. I've never been suicidal but it's all important to talk about. My diagnosis journey has been long and I've always been compelled to try lots of options and STILL felt a sense of defeat when I did find the answer (thread) Like damn, how many years could I have had back I'd known earlier. I've always been intense. I like to perform, have a mouth on me, and enjoy making people laugh but have crippling anxiety and have experienced waves of depression before I even knew that's what they were.
