Don Jr. retweeted this. The second time he's retweeted and promoted a total lie this week. I am not going to leave this stuff unanswered and I'm not going to let him impact my business like he did last year.
A) Here it is, my voter guide! Last time I posted it the day before the election, but given so many people vote absentee, I'm posting it sooner! This voter guide will include the top races in CA (and initiatives) but I also think its critical to focus on down ballot races
A) This morning, Don Jr. retweeted this tweet which contains a video of a Pizzagate/QaNON guy screaming at me at my show in Philadelphia over the weekend. I am sick and tired of talking about this, but I have no choice because every time they do this it impacts my life/career.
B) I am a comic who posted a photo some people took issue with. That does not mean I should be subject to this kind of harassment. I now have to have security guards wand my fans as they're entering my shows...I'm not a head of state/pres candidate, I shouldn't have to do this
C) This kind of harassment is coordinated and then puts the subject through (in this case me) what I call the Trump wood chipper. The death threats will ramp up again, people in the business will be more hesitant to hire me, and Trump/QaNon people will continue to harass my mom.
A) Something about all of the Kavanaugh protests and protesting in general. I think its important to put something in perspective...protesting can be a sacrifice but it can also be something that is largely available to the privileged and not easy for many women to participate in
B) Think about when a team in your city has won a championship. You ever marvel how many men find a way to get the day off at a moment's notice to attend the rally? How they manage to stay out partying in the middle of the week even though they have to go to work the next day?
C) While many women showed up to the women's march, that was planned in advance and took place on a Saturday. Women are the primary caregivers, many women work two jobs and then have a job at home with kids/house etc.
A) I have some news to share...Why am I doing a super intimate show in LA? Well, I decided to bite the bullet and I'm filming my current act, the same one I've taken across the world, for a special. Difference is, I'm filming this on my own and with my own money. Here's why..
B) This is not the way I want to do it. I'd rather have a deal with @Netflix@Apple@HBO, but despite the fact that I hold the Guinness Book of World Record for the most televised comedy specials, none of the companies that are in the comedy special biz have come calling.
C) Since I launched my world tour last year, and especially as I've done sold-out appearances in the US and Canada, there's not a day that goes by where a fan doesn't ask me when I'm releasing a special based on the Laugh Your Head Off Tour. I want to record my act for my fans
A) Last year I was repeatedly told that my Trump photo was a danger to the safety of the President. I was under a two month federal investigation for it. TMZ "reported" that Barron Trump was traumatized by seeing the photo (a lie). Yet conservatives keep using the picture/video!
B) Trust me...this is the last thing I want to be talking about, but I think its important because when there is another Kathy Griffin (and there will be), I don't want the same thing to happen to them. Talking about this doesn't help me sell concert tickets or anything else.
C) The hypocrisy of the GOP is so astounding. This image they claim is so offensive is regularly used on Fox News, in campaign ads, and in other conservative media. I'm assuming Barron Trump no longer watches TV? Aren't they worried about POTUS son being exposed to this?
A) I want to use this incredible, heartbreaking post by @gwen_fulton about poverty and natural disasters to talk about the weather, Trump supporters, and fake news. This post by Gwen is as beautifully written as any major newspaper op-ed...
B) First, something I mentioned last week but that's worth repeating given that we are in hurricane season. We need to stop judging people who don't evacuate. A vast majority of people who don't evacuate are not thrill seekers or irrational people...they're poor.
C) Evacuating is a luxury...yes, a luxury. Let's acknowledge a few stats...
5% of US households are unbanked. Meaning they have no bank account. This means they rely on cash and check cashing stores. Good luck finding money when everything is shut down. bankingjournal.aba.com/2018/05/fed-su…
Not for nothin, but if anything happens, I love you all. Love and laughter. That’s what I think it’s all about. Forever. XXOO
MIAMI - I am so sorry, for the second time in ten years I have to postpone a show. The plane I was on just had an emergency landing and we can’t get to Miami on time for the show. I’m truly sorry. Please text KATHY to 345345 to find out when the show is rescheduled.
MIAMI - see tweet above. There was a fire in the tail of the plane. I would never ever postpone for anything trivial. I am truly sorry. Please text KATHY to 345345 to find out when the show is rescheduled. I’m so sorry.
A) I have a story to tell and it's related to the whole Les Moonves situation. Normally, I hate when women are blamed for their husband's misconduct...it happens all the time. And after the first allegations against Leslie were revealed, I hoped his wife wouldn't face blowback.
B) Julie Chen has always been nice to me and I had no reason to believe that she knew about her husband assaulting women before they got married. So I reached out to her and told her I would love to come on her show and I didn't need to make it about her husband/CBS
C) She never got back to me...but I figured she was just swamped with the scandal and didn't think anything of it. Then, several days ago I learned of how Julie has treated people from folks that I know personally.
A) There's also something we're not talking about...general abuse of/retaliation against women in the workplace that isn't in the sexual misconduct department. I got a message from a famous woman comedian the other night that broke my heart....(cont)
B) I've known this woman for years, told me she was basically done with being a comic. She was tired of going up against the boys club...exhausted with being made to prove herself -- something successful male comics don't have to do -- after over 15 years in the biz..
C) Not sharing exactly how long she's been in the business because i don't want people guessing who it is. But as I read this message from her I got emotional because successful male comics don't ever have these thoughts. They don't feel beaten down by the business...
A) You know how many talented women and POC comics are knocking on doors trying to get some time in front of audiences or powerful people in this business? And Louis just gets to glide back in on his own terms? Gosh, does it payoff to be in the boys club..the white boys club
B) I'm so used to the boys club in comedy things like this don't shock me...but that doesn't mean situations like this don't make me angry and frustrated for the people who have struggled to be heard and seen in a business that appreciate diversity.
C) Just like executives at major companies have golf..which is where business gets done, men get promotions, but people who don't golf are left out...in the comedy business male comics hang out with each other and cover for each other. They write jokes, give each other gigs
B) Every time I post something related to the Kardashians/Jenners I get lots of hate tweets. Well something you should know is after the Trump photo, when 99% of my liberal anti-Trump Hollywood friends abandoned me, @KrisJenner and @KimKardashian were there for me.
C) They didn't do it for retweets or attention or for their show, in fact me and my boyfriend were the only ones who knew. Kris has also helped me promote my current tour when others have declined to be associated with me. This isn't good for their business model..
