I don't know any engineering team of any significant scale that isn't struggling with a loss of productivity. Here is Amazon talking about their "Builder Experience" efforts: archive.ph/f1jTt Lot of contributing factors. The first is just team size as I've said many times before. Communication and coordination costs grow geometrically with team sizes in software development.

Apropos of talking to yet another engineer working at a company that under invests in developer experience. An unfortunate outcome of software development being complex, is that coordination and communication rapidly grow to be the most significant development costs as your team size increases (see geometric complexity in networks).

Good overview from @dylanscott on new congressional proposals to lower prescription costs. vox.com/policy-and-pol… Why is it important? ~18% of US GDP is spent on healthcare, ~10% of healthcare cost is on prescription meds, but is closer to 40% of the profits. This is the low hanging fruit.
