Communication and coordination costs grow geometrically with team sizes in software development.

Apropos of talking to yet another engineer working at a company that under invests in developer experience. An unfortunate outcome of software development being complex, is that coordination and communication rapidly grow to be the most significant development costs as your team size increases (see geometric complexity in networks).
