I just generated 1,000 high quality articles in ~1 hour for $19.81.

That's 2 cents per article.

Each one is 1,200 - 1,700 words long and includes a custom featured image (auto-generated at zero cost).

Pre-AI this would've cost $40K + 😭

Here's how (and proof of quality): I'll start with the proof of quality because I'm sure you're skeptical of my "high quality" claim.

"Quality" is highly subjective, so the only objective way to prove it is by looking at data. In the case of an article, rankings + traffic is the best data available for proof of quality.

(I'm not arguing that poor rankings = low-quality article, I'm simply arguing that high rankings = high-quality article in the eyes of a search engine. There are caveats of course, but in general this is the best way to prove quality.)

My articles are high quality because I've already published hundreds using the exact same system, and my rankings + traffic are consistently improving.

This traffic is also spread across my articles quite evenly, with the top article accounting for less than 4% of traffic.

(regarding the high bounce rate and low views per visit and visit duration, my articles give the answer right away so there's no need for users to stick around).Image

Fun little low-competition business you can build today:

Landscaping-related calculator site (mulch, gravel, mowing, etc.)

Top competitor gets 50K monthly visitors, and literally CHARGES for some of their calculators.

You could make a similar site in a day with AI. Image Don't charge for usage, just monetize with display ads and relevant landscaping leads.

This won't make you rich, but it could bring in an extra few hundred a month.

It wouldn't even require much ongoing maintenance.

Not bad for an afternoon of work!

I found a bunch of niche sites that are absolutely CRUSHING it on Google right now.

Including a 7-month old site with 198,000 monthly visitors.

Niche sites aren't dead.

If you have a hard time believing me, keep reading. I was pretty shocked by some of these.

🧵... Successful niche site #1: AccountingInsights .org

It’s boring, it’s drab, but it’s simple and profitable.

What I find crazy is that it’s a typical niche site, à la 2018. It looks like it’s straight outta the golden age of niche sites.

100% pure content site.

Heavy keyword targeting.

No attempt at demonstrating EEAT.

Tons of simple articles without imagery, graphs, or anything fancy. Just keyword-rich headings and walls of text.Image

Simple browser-based games are a goldmine and overlooked by most marketers.

Massive traffic potential.

Low competition.

Easy to build.

You don't even have to invent a new game. In fact, it's better if you don't.

Some examples: 1. ConnectionsUnlimited .org

A simple site where you can play the NYT Connections game an unlimited number of times. Monetized with ads.

This site was launched in June 2023.

By March 2024, it reached 1,000,000 monthly organic visitors. Wild. Image

Here's how to find wide-open niches for online tool sites like the one Grant is talking about:

🧵...

If you have Ahrefs or a similar keyword research tool, the simplest method is to search a broad keyword like "compress" or "pdf", and filter the results to only show low-competition keywords.

Let me run through an example real quick:

I am continually amazed by the vast opportunity in online directories.

There are TONS of very niche-specific directories making hundreds or thousands of dollars a month.

Here are a 4 real examples:

🧵... 1. SoakOregon .com

A directory of hot springs in Oregon.

Talk about "niching down". This is about as niche as you can get.

And yet… this site, a simple static directory of hot springs in Oregon, gets 18,000 monthly visitors.Image

Ouch.

Recipes .net lost nearly 100% of its traffic after a botched website structure overhaul. Image Their top pages back in June were all redirected.

For example:

recipes .net/articles/how-to-cook-surimi-snow-crab-legs/

Was redirected to recipes .net/articles/how-to-cook-imitation-crab/

And

recipes .net/articles/how-to-boil-chicken-breast-from-frozen/

to recipes .net/articles/how-to-boil-frozen-chicken/

SEOs: be careful changing URL slugs (better yet, don't change them)!Image

I analyzed 100s of niche sites in Ahrefs.

Only a few gained traffic since the Helpful Content Update.

The rest had 40-90% drops.

Sharing the winners in tomorrow's newsletter.

A preview: This site looks like its design hasn't been updated since 2009.

The domain contains 3 hyphens.

But it's obvious the author is knowledgeable and passionate about the niche.

Everything about it screams trustworthy. It's what niche sites should be. Image

I believe there are secrets in SEO.

Mainstream advice works, but there's so much more to learn that very few people talk about.

I learn something new almost every time I read any of the following:

🧵... #1: Builder Society

Read through it a bit and you'll run into some RIDICULOUS knowledge bombs.

How I find 1,000s of low competition keywords in minutes:

(I've never seen anyone else talk about this particular strategy)

🧵... I first shared this strategy with my newsletter yesterday.

I went into even more depth in my newsletter, so you might want to subscribe if you aren't already (link in my bio).

With that said, let's get straight to it. No fluff.

Here's a new keyword research trick I've been using with great results:

Mining low competition keywords from top competitors.

...with a twist ;)

🧵... The standard way is to find all low-difficulty keywords a website ranks for and just target those.

But low-difficulty according to SEO tools doesn't always mean low-difficulty in reality.

Here's a simple keyword research tactic I use to find keywords with Reddit or Quora ranking on the first page:

🧵... There are a few ways to do this. The easiest is by using a tool like Ahrefs.

1. Search a keyword in Ahrefs' Keywords Explorer

In this example, I'll search "samsung s21".

2. Click "View all" under the Terms match section. Image

Over the last few months, I've been compiling niche ideas that are good for AI-generated content.

There aren't a lot of them out there.

Here are 7 niche ideas that are perfect for AI content:

🧵... First, my favorite tools for generating AI content are Machined () and Koala (https://t.co/GtW1y7puD1) (aff links).

Both produce extremely high-quality content (as far as AI content goes), and at a cheap cost.machined.ai/?via=nichesite…

I've spent a few months refining my process for editing AI-written articles.

Each article takes less than 30 minutes.

In many cases, my articles jump straight to #1 on Google within days.

Here's my exact process, step-by-step:

🧵... Image To generate content in the first place, I use Machined () and Koala (https://t.co/GC5KRY7ywW) (<-- affiliate links).

Both tools provide top-notch quality content (as far as AI content goes!)machined.ai/?via=nichesite…

Here's an ultra powerful, yet little-known on-page SEO strategy:

🧵... The strategy: improving salience.

Let’s face it - Google can’t understand text the same way us humans can.

Instead, Google relies on machine learning to identify entities within text, which helps it understand what’s being discussed.

I just hit 5,000 followers!

To celebrate, here's a keyword research strategy I've never shared.

I earned an extra $12,800 from my niche site by following this strategy.

Here goes! 👇 The strategy is to find topics in your niche that are BRAND NEW.

Topics where you'll be one of the first - if not THE first - to write about.

You'll have a high chance of ranking first, passively earning backlinks, and being seen as an authority.

Here's how to find new topics:

After analyzing hundreds of niches, these are the 6 things I always look for.

The criteria a niche MUST meet to be worth pursuing.

This could save you from wasting years of precious time:

🧵... First, I suggest picking a niche and following along with each step so you learn how to analyze a niche yourself!

You'll need the Keywords Everywhere Chrome extension for this (it's free - here's the link: chrome.google.com/webstore/detai…)

Alright, let's jump in with the 6 criteria!

This is my most unique keyword research strategy.

No one else teaches it and I've never shared it publicly.

Until now.

I call it "Projected Keyword Success".

Here's how it works:

🧵... 1. Find keywords
2. Find the "PKS" score for each one
3. Prioritize those with higher PKS scores
