Bear with me for a second, it's going to get a bit meta with some analysis of analysis of the housing debate.

Out of nowhere, there is a real notable push right now from many commentators to push the narrative that funds are being "demonised"

businesspost.ie/houses/foreign… @danobrien20's piece (which has some interesting points) pushes this narrative too.

Says the debate has gotten toxic, but also says anyone who doesn't agree with funds is a silly goose

Thanks to the Law Society for the award recognising the report by myself and @whytebarry: "Firefighting in the witness box: Kingspan's pushback against allegations at the Grenfell Tower Inquiry"

I would also like to take a moment to congratulate Barry on his beautiful new fence And congrats to @sallyhayd, @Sallyannegodson and @barrycummins12. It's truly an honour to win considering the quality of reporting that was entered this year was exceptionally high

I bet a lot of people are trying to get their head around this story brought to light by @crazyhouseprice.

How can a €685k house be going for €1.25m (€530k above asking)?

It's a head melt, but here's why it's happening

extra.ie/2021/06/24/pro… To an investor, €1.25m for a four-bed house in Rathmines makes financial sense right now.

That's because the average rent listed for a four-bed at the moment is €3,993 a month (Source: Daft)
