#vitaminK Vitamin K is natural and is needed by all people for their blood to clot. In utero, babies don't have enough and Vitamin K doesn't cross the placenta, so newborns are deficient. Most will be ok, but a portion of newborns will bleed and even die if they aren't given Vitamin K.
