I can't answer Matt's question but I can tell you about another concept that is is now on the chopping block thanks to the Trump EO on DEI, and that's environmental justice. Thread. I've never liked the term "environmental justice." It makes it sound like eco police who bust people for littering. But while some people on both the left and right have attempted to make EJ about race, it's actually about improving living conditions and the environment in vulnerable communities, whether those are poor black ghettos in Oakland or poor Native villages in Alaska or poor white trailerparks in Kentucky.

I have no data on this but I get the sense that media has moved away from pushing “Latinx” because the polling is no negative. It doesn’t look great for the (mostly white) US media to use a term for people that the people themselves hate. Now, the same thing might happen with “birthing persons” etc but I doubt it. Instead, solely using terms like “women” and “female” will be increasingly be perceived as TERFY right-wing dogwhistles and so the left/liberal media will double down on “birthing persons” etc.

This idiotic article by @MilesKlee doesn’t even attempt to explain my position. If Miles had asked me for comment I would have said: trans ppl deserve respect, legal protection, and medical access. But that doesn’t mean they are the literal opposite sex. melmagazine.com/en-us/story/te… Kids with GD deserve a thorough diagnosis and to not get fast-tracked to irreversible medical procedures before they are able to understand they consequences. Some kids have severe GD and will benefit from blockers; others will naturally grow out of their distress (as I did).

There are plenty of other reasons to object to Chris Rufo besides the fact that he's dismissive of the very people who alerted him to this issue in the first place. Starting with his tactics. I heard the craziest bad tenant story about a group of anarcho anti capitalists who refused to pay rent to their (nurse) landlord for months and months and absolutely destroyed the house.
