Call me crazy, but I think a chain's value should come from the utility it provides. Ethereum is fundamentally offering block space. Currently users are paying ~$2.5b per year for this block space and ultimately this is a measurement of the utility Ethereum provides. (1/6) How can this increase by 10x over the next years? To me the answer can not be that transaction costs increase by 10x - at least part of it needs to be Ethereum simply offering more block space.
Yes, increasing the block limit will put more load on full nodes. But we should (2/6)

Ok - starting from zero - I will now set up a trading bot that crawls the internet to get information about recent topics, evaluates them and uses the result to make autonomous trades on prediction markest.
Let's see if I can get it running in <15 min.

GO! Image Ok, first step: You find general information on: but we don't read, we jump right to the quick starthackathon.olas.network

For anyone in Europe @monerium is by far the fastest, cheapest and most crypto native on and off-ramp. SEPA transfer and minutes later tokens are minted into your wallet 1:1
(1/4) Once you sign up you can connect your wallet (Metamask or really anything else including @safe and @GetLinen) and a personal IBAN will be generated for you. Now you can do a regular SEPA transfer to this IBAN (from any bank account). As soon as money hits the account... (2/4)

Four month ago we released the "Agnostic Relay" with the goal to reduce censorship on Ethereum.
Today Agnostic took over spot 1 and delivered the most blocks!
🧵 how we became part of the game but how we also think the game is broken and it needs to change fundamentally! Image Lets start with a quick reminder: every 12 sec it is the turn of a specific validator to produce the next block. They can either do that locally ("vanilla block") or use mev-boost and query different relays to give them the best block that will likely have a larger payout. Image

We failed hard at explaining this, so let me share why the next millions of users will start as a 1/1 @safe user, what the big advantages are, what we are doing to make every account on @gnosischain a Safe and how this will look completely different from the team Safes you know. Onboarding is a very challenging moment. It is almost an impossible task: You are asking a new user (that may not even be sure what this is) to store a seed phrase. BUT in such a way to *never lose it* (make lots of copies) but also never let someone else see it (make no copies).

Have not written a contract in a long time - but here you go: If you have the suspicion that any address is censored on Ethereum and you want to establish a track record which miners/validators are participating in censorship - this contract is your friend!
A short thread 👇 To set up a new "ConsorshipDetector" all you need to do is call the "deploy" function with the address you think might get censored. Optionally you can directly add some Ether to the call, which will fund the detector.

Time to bring back attention to "Shutterized Beacon Chain" -a concept that allows to optionally encrypt transaction and get them included into the chain before the content is visible to anyone. Greatly improving censorship resistance and reducing malicious MEV. A subset (e.g. 512 like the sync committee) of validators produce a private/public key pair for each of the next 32 slots. The keys are produced using "DKG" (distributed key generation) so that the public keys are available while no one has the private keys - only key shares.

Some context - why this could have been a big deal but in the end was not really.
A thread: First - re-orgs are expected on most blockchains. Roughly speaking - the only way to prevent reorgs is to set up the blockchain in a way that it is at risk at stopping at some point altogether.

The Ethereum beacon chain experienced a 7-block deep reorg ~2.5h ago. This shows that the current attestation strategy of nodes should be reconsidered to hopefully result in a more stable chain! (proposals already exist) This, unfortunately, shows that the analysis by @gakonst and @VitalikButerin here was too optimistic when the article claimed re-org stability will improve in POS over POW.
We have not seen 7 block reorgs on Ethereum mainnet in years.

You might make the mistake and think - given the undeniably existing Terra ecosystem a market cap of $869,801,322 might make Luna "a buy" at $0.13

Wrong! You need to understand - Luna is currently printed faster than you can execute an order. Before the crash the circulating supply was 344,044,178
today int the morning it was around
3,000,000,000 (so almost 10x)
and now it is already at:
7,412,360,868 (another >2x within hours)

So people who not understand this dynamic are holding UST still at an unrealistic ~$0.50

Just picked up my @DAppNode today. Let's do a live Tweet storm: from unboxing to running a validator on the brand new @gnosischain beacon chain.
Let's go! Image First some context about the xDAI/Gnosis merge here:
As part of this plan we started the Gnosis Beacon chain:
beacon.gnosischain.com
Now I want to become a validator! Ok, let's open the box...

When people ask: "Can I do XYZ with a Safe" the answer is almost always: "Yes!" Often asked:
* Yes, you can use the Safe with any Dapp supports Wallet connect.
* Yes, you can have nested Safes
* Yes, you can define extra rules that require different signer thresholds
* Yes, you can bundle many transactions into one
* Yes, you can set up "guards"

Today the vote about a merge between @gnosisPM and @xdaichain chain has started that would - if accepted - lead to the creation of Gnosis Chain - hopefully an important piece in the wider Ethereum ecosystem.
A thread 👇 First, blockchain governance/ DAOs is rapidly evolving. While many DAOs have formed and established proposal/ decision processes, so far, most decisions have been small in scale. E.g. grant only touching a tiny fraction of the treasury.

After 7 years of dreaming about it, discussing it, dismissing it, adjusting it and finally implementing it, @CirclesUBI - "universal basic income on the blockchain" - or just "better money" went live today! So - what is Circles? It can be seen as many things:
6 examples:
1) A voluntary basic income scheme without the need of a state
2) Fully decentralized money but fair in time and space
3) A mutual credit system where credit lines are set by default to make credit fungible

Currently, no "solver" is able to clear the MTA auction.
This is comparable to "maker keepers" not participating in auctions. This is our fault. Funds of buyers or sellers are not at risk. But it creates potentially exactly the same problems the a batch auction was supposed to fix. We are working on it with the highest pressure right now.

Time for a short thread of how the "oracle problem" is solved in @Omen_eth in a fully decentralized way. Every market in Omen is linked to a question on @RealitioProject. Once the resolution time comes anyone can resolve that question to whatever outcome they want by posting a small Ether bond (min 0.01 ETH)

Time to review the first larger IDO on Gnosis Protocol and to look into why the mechanisms give BOTH team and the average buyer better prices. (1/11) I described the issues with using an AMM for an IDO already here: (2/11)

Gnosis prediction markets are live! Gnosis is a platform for prediction markets and after the launch of @corona_markets and @polydotmarket recently I am excited to see @Dxdao_ launching @Omen_eth - a product that is fully decentralized, has no single point of failure, and thus is naturally permissionless.

.@UMAprotocol did an Initial Uniswap listing.
A thread 👇

(1/19) First of all - what is it? It is basically the next step after ICO -> IEO (initial exchange offering) -> IDO (initial DEX offering)
It is a primary offering of tokens to the public but now instead of using a specific sales mechanism (ICO) or a CEX (IEO) its using a DEX.

Testing capacity in Germany will be increased by up to factor 10 to up to 400,000 a day (!) by doing pooled testing. E.g mix 16 samples and if negative - all are negative, otherwise binary search for the positve(s). Could of course be used worldwide. since many are asking: the article did not provide details about the exact method. In the article, they talked only about pools of 5 but that would not allow a 10x scale factor. So I assumed pools of 16 in my Tweet. Maybe @CiesekSandra can share more details.

Since many people have been surprised by this - a short thread on token allowance - what they are, why they are used, and what hidden danger they create: 1/ First of all it is important to understand how tokens work. Each token has its own smart contract. This contract holds basically a list with all owners of the token. You do not really hold tokens in your wallet - there is just somewhere a token contract that has ...
