🇲🇩 Moldova has voted against joining the EU in a referendum, according to preliminary results.

46.6% Support EU membership
53.4% Against

(91.5% of the votes counted) 🇲🇩 Moldova Presidential Election:

Pro-EU Maia Sandu will face pro-Russian socialist Alexandr Stoianoglo in a runoff for Moldova's presidency.

Sandu received 38.5% of the vote, while Stoianoglo garnered 28.5% in the first round.

Other pro-Russian candidates finished third, fourth and fifth.

The Nov. 3 runoff is expected to be a close race.

Out of 61 deputies that where present, 28 were in favor, 29 against and 4 abstained.

The opposition boycotted the vote. According to a public opinion poll by @crdefenders, the majority of Kosovo citizens support the ability of same-sex couples to enjoy the rights that would be given by the new Civil Code.
