I went to Vietnam in the 1st week of July and here is my summary of the same!!

Day1:
Landed at Hanoi Airport, we were outside the airport within 5mins.. looked like a Tier 1/2 airport with hardly any distance from runway to exit gate..

Checked in Sheraton, hanoi west! Day 2:
Took a day trip to Ninh-binh.. it is a country side place.. takes about 2.5hrs ride from Hanoi.

At Ninh-binh, you would do a boat ride for about 45mins passing through caves surrounded by lush green hills.. I would say, it is a good ride.

Post lunch, we had 2 options

Trip to Ladakh! Long pending one!

Quick itinerary:
Day 1 : Arrival to Leh (fly down), acclimatize to weather

Day 2: Visit Nubri Valley via Khardung La, Diskit Monastery, Hunder Sand Dunes and stay at Hunder

Day 3: Visit Pangong Tso lake via Chang La, stay at Pangong lake Day 4: Return to Leh, visit local places (Thicksey Monastery, Rancho School, Shanti Stupa)

Day 5 : Fly out from Leh..

Though 4 days is a short time to cover Ladakh, I will plan a bigger one next time..

Off to vacation..After almost 1.5yrs.. will try posting some updates..

Planned places : Gangtok, Lachung, Lachen, Pelling, Darjeeling

NJP to Gangktok is about 4 hrs drive and since it was early morning at 2AM, hardly encountered any traffic.
