"When you’re accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression. (It's not)"
By Franklin Leonard
The reaction to the PM' comment from a certain section is expected. The fact is, Dr. Manmohan Singh said what he said as far as Muslims getting first rights on our resources are concerned because he played his politics. I remember that day as a citizen, and I felt man where do we go as Hindus. The BJP is basically correcting the Overton Window, that is it. A certain lot is so used to being treated specially, whether it is their own civil laws, street power, or many other forms of Shakti pradarshan that a statement that implies "I won't let it happen and everyone will be treated the same" sounds like Oppression. This is on the Congress and its brand of politics. This is why I tell people read a political party manifesto. Read both the BJP and Congress manifesto and then decide for yourself whether Congress is the new Muslim league or not. Here is the Congress CM saying things as clear as daylight. So the Congress can play politics and get branded as liberal and secular. But the moment BJP responds, it becomes a problem.

He says he will share the references from Periyar to make his case. So let me share one quote from Periyar in a meeting on August 31, 1959:

"Who do you hate? The Brahmin or Brahminism? What is Brahminism?’ – for questions such as these, my reply is Brahminism came from Brahmins and hence it is the Brahmins who should be annihilated. It is like asking whether you hate thievery or the thief. It is because one is a thief, one indulges in thievery. When someone says he hates thievery, it means he hates the thief, too, doesn’t it? Thus, [my stand is] Brahminism grew out of the Brahmin and I am striving to annihilate the root."
Now will Udhay say the Wire is fake news?
Periyar also hated democracy for the record. Let me share one more quote from the same essay.
His words: “India should never go anywhere near democratic principles. The reason is 90% of our population are fools and 97% of them are persons of low birth. How will their rule set right our country?” (Periyar’s writings compiled by Pasu. Gowthaman, vol. 4, 2017, p. 432)

A journalist is supposed to report, not be a spokesperson for the people. This is when journalists start thinking that they are activists. I have never been able to understand this line of reasoning that so many journalists use. I need to know what is happening. I will collate… https://t.co/F1edFjLxoPtwitter.com/i/web/status/1…
The reality is that most journalists in India were used to a cushy life thanks to the old Congress party establishment. They had perks and placements. And everyone who has followed Indian media for a while knows that. It is just that the current BJP-led establishment is not… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…

SB 403 will be a reality soon. A moment of silence for Hindus who invested so much money in the democratic party for decades only to be gifted with a bill that literally targets them. The bill does not call out casteism in general. It says people from South Asia are unique. The bill is deeply problematic. It is not ethnicity neutral. Because discrimination is already covered under American law. This bill creates a unique situation. It claims only people from the sub continent are capable of caste discrimination. It assumes things like:

This is a terrible argument. When cinema is used to depict British India we show white people doing bad things. No one complaints and says cinema is being used to vilify a community at large. This argument is wrong and stands no ground when tested using 1st principles. Cinema is also used to depict saffron wearing Hindus doing terrible things. It is used to depict sadhus doing terrible things. Cinema offends everyone in India. But, what Vir is saying is that you do it for everyone but Islamists. The problem is with Vir' arguments not the movie

In my podcast yesterday with @Iyervval on "Pakistan's Identity Crisis" I could not make a lot of points because of time constraints. Yes, I had a lot more to say but just could not. So I will try to clarify some things in this thread.
There is a reason why I chose the clips of Dr. Pervez Hoodbhoy on The Pakistan Experience. Because I wanted to use the most charitable Pakistani version rather than Laal Topi to make my point.

My biggest problem with Pakistani intellectuals is that they never steelman Hindutva arguments properly. The classic case is Dr. Pervez Hoodbhoy in this podcast around minute 49. I have no issues with him critiquing Hindutva. But it should be accurate.
I enjoy listening to Pakistani speakers as I tend to consume opposing views more. But I am a stickler for steelmanning everyone. That is not done by Dr. Hoodhboy here. But it is what it is.

The Shami video does not have any evidence of heckling. Unless you say a Hindu cannot utter Jai Shri Ram to a Muslim I see nothing wrong in that video. It is your imagination based on socio-political commentary. If that is the case then should the azaan be assumed to be hostile… twitter.com/i/web/status/1… This is a classic case of bigotry phishing. Is there bigotry in India? yes there is? But that video shows no evidence of it. Everything else is just imagination. Everyone is free to imagine anything based on their leaning. I see nothing wrong in it at all.

Why is @akshaykumar always singled out and taunted because he is a Canadian? We have a litany of foreign "India Experts" commenting on our nation & its affairs 24 x 7. They are allowed but how dare Akshay comment. I don't know Mr Kumar but this attack on his nationality hilarious This once again shows the complete and utter lack of 1st principles in our discourse in general. Rational discourse is very hard. But I did not know it was that hard. What should primarily matter is the argument. And Akshay has been more or less in India all his life.

Who said they can't rehire or won't rehire? The point was journalists and left wing progressives started the goodbye Twitter nonsense. They clearly made no sense. There are only 2 things:
1. Journalists don't know shit
2. People on average don't think like entrepreneurs People think Elon will buy a company for that amount and then go let us burn all of this? It shows they have never a business of any size. You always have some level of bad hiring in every business (heck I did in my own factory for 2 decades). But there is a limit to that stuff.

Islamists say "western values aren't universal".
Indians tell Islamists even their values aren't universal.
On a side note why can't respecting LGBT rights or looking at people as individuals 1st and group members 2nd be universal?
What is so uniquely western about this? This plays right into the progressive left/Islamist right/Decolonialist Hindu worldview that wants different group-based value systems for the whole world. They actually want to stop a universal values-based framework. Because that makes them question themselves internally.

I am pro Hindutva, sympathetic to the RSS and vote for the BJP in India. I just want to put it in record for everyone in the West so that they know it when they meet me. I don't know what this Hindutva/Hindu Nationalism/RSS/BJP rubbish that goes around in the West all about. I keep trying to reach out to people and they literally have no understanding of the subject or ideology beyond certain stereotypes. Is this what goes around as "South Asian Scholarship" in the West? If this is scholarship then I am happy being unscholarly.

This is exactly the kind of nonsense that @shambhav15 @Iyervval & I were talking about today on the SSS Global podcast. I present to you Shriman @DouglasKMurray the new expert on India and multiculturalism. Everyone knows what will happen if I quizzed him
spectator.co.uk/article/leices… Leicester is not a problem of diversity and multiculturalism. It is a problem of Islamism and its incompatibility with modernity. Can @DouglasKMurray point to how the Hindu community has not merged with British society? Can he make a quantitative and qualitative argument?

The line of questioning that has been set up in the entire British media landscape around the Leicester crisis is fascinating. For example, everyone is looking for "RSS/ pro BJP" connections in the Hindu community. Can someone explain to me why that has been done and what exactly is the RSS/BJP in the eyes of the British press? Also, how have they come up with this supposed understanding? Can they share their resources and scholarly material for the same?

If you're a western "expert" on "Hindutva Nationalism" here is an open invite from me. I will host you on my podcast to explain what it is to an Indian audience. If you're up for it and can give a historical fact based account of the same email me at contact@kushalmehra.com I have not come across one factual narration of what Hindutva is and what they stand for in any work in the West. There is one book (forgot the author). Outside that I've seen people calling Karpatri Maharaj as mainstream Hindutva which is factually incorrect.

The rise of India will create problems for Hindus globally. It is important for the Hindu community to have a global outlook now more than ever. Hindutva will always be the bulwark in India. Like it or not it isn't going anywhere. The global left wing ummah will try everything. They will write op eds laced with lies, half baked horse shit and false accusations. But remember they hate a rising India economically. They were happy till India was their socialist utopia where they'd experiment all sorts of absurd ideas via their social science horse shit.

Leicester and the unravelling of multiculturalism

spiked-online.com/2022/09/20/lei… Leicester to me is not the unraveling of multiculturalism IMO. It is more a statement of Islamism and its incompatibility with modernity. The so called Hindutva culture is not at war with modernity. Hindus on average merge with every culture they migrate to and it is evident.

The storyline repeated everytime when a white western commentator talks about India is as follows:
" I don't know much about Indian politics, BJP, RSS, or Hindutva."
And then they go on and shit on it for a good few minutes. This is a universal phenomenon. I find it funny. Imagine if someone said:
" I don't know much about American politics" and then started shitting on the Dems/Republicans for a good 30 minutes. Would they be taken seriously by the average western audiences? But we are supposed to take these white western commentators seriously?

It is very easy to burn things down and very hard to build things from the bottom up. I respect RSS because they do the latter and I have barely got any respect for social media blabbering (including myself) because we do the former. I have had the pleasure of working with the Sanghis in Maha. Their discipline, dedication, & single minded focus to achieve measurable targets is something that impacted me deeply. I try to follow their model in my own ground work that I do independently. They are inspirational.
