This holiday season. Please don’t demand people graciously thank and pose for you when you help out. Don’t overwhelm orgs with your used junk. Manage your own ego. Don’t be a greater burden on struggling people. What gifts do unhoused people really want? Cash. Cigarettes. Weed. Booze. Sobeys gift cards. Also gift cards for food that’s nearby.

If you’re giving a gift card, write the amount on it. If it’s less than $5-$10, consider how useful YOU would find that gift.
