Oaks complaining about protestors not being peaceful and following it up with a "learning to live together" and a reference to "government's legitimate police powers" is either an intentional dog whistle or the most tone-deaf speech i have ever heard. Adding in women's suffrage and the end of slavery does not absolve him.

Someone I know posted a list of pros and cons for "true conservatives" who are deciding to vote for Trump or Biden.

Let me be perfectly clear:

A vote for Trump is not a conservative vote, unless your definition of "conservative" is "return to government by monarch/despot." A vote for Trump is a vote against democracy, against individual freedom, and against the ideals that this country has upheld since its founding.

A vote for Trump is a vote for stepping back in time--not to a time when America was great, but to a time when it was openly racist,
