🧵 the current Palestine narrative formed via the following: Before 1948, the Arab forces relied on Nazism and religious doctrine for their stated goals for the Jewish people. Then the USSR and its allies took over the campaign after Israel drifted from becoming a Soviet client

The KGB announced their campaign
“We needed to instil a Nazi-style hatred for the Jews throughout the Islamic world, and to turn this weapon of the emotions into a terrorist bloodbath against Israel and its main supporter, the United States.” — Yuri Andropov, Chairman of the KGB

🧵 Thread of attempts by Jews to return to the land of Israel before the 1880s:
In the 9th century Jews from Iraq, Syria, Turkey and Greece, as well as Balkans and Slavic countries. Encouraged by the Yishuv, before the Fatimid caliphate and Seljuk wars caused another scattering

The end of the crusaders was seen by Jews in Europe as a sign that no others will prosper in the land. Jews began to migrate at a steady flow from several exiles in the 13th and 14th centuries in Europe and MENA before Mamluk Muslims once again decimated the Jewish population

A thread🧵:Did you know “Free Palestine” was a Zionist slogan to free Eretz Israel (land of Israel), at the time the British Mandate of Palestine reviving the Roman name; from centuries under colonial rule of foreign powers when Jews were second class citizens in our homeland

🧵 cont: the original draft for the British Mandate was divided between Jewish Palestine, and Trans-Jordan, as before the area defined as “Palestine” had no defined borders or definition. Before the British it was part of five disunited sanjaks under the Ottoman Empire

A thread 🧵 my favourite Amnesty international scandals:
1. In 2010 the fired the head of their Gender Unit, Gita Sahgal after she criticized the NGO’s connections to Islamic extremism groups ImageImageImage 2. In 2015 Amnesty hosted a speaker, Dyab Abu Jahja, who has celebrated the 9/11 terrorist attacks, denied the Holocaust and claimed Europe had a “Jew worshiping cult”, and referred to gay people as “AIDS spreading f**gots” ImageImage

How antisemitism works 🧵: an ever evolving conspiracy, mutating like a virus from century to century depending on what society views as it’s greatest hindrance. Jews being the diaspora group, always seen as “outsiders”. It targets Jews for either or both our faith and ethnicity 🧵 continued: the most prevalent form of antisemitism is scapegoating. Placing blame on Jews for things such as the black plague, economic crash, losing a war, a bad crop season etc… and justified by myths of Jewish “power” to be able do so, almost supernaturally.

Thread 🧵: double standards against Jews are a constant, and are generally just projections of the accuser. We are expected to behave differently than everyone else, expected to act as a monolith with one mind, unable to define our own discrimination… 🧵 continued: when a Jew or Israeli is being a piece of shit, the story goes “it’s not because he’s just a shitty person, it’s because he’s a Jew/Israeli” as if the ability to be a bad person is somehow only limited to one people group and not an individual’s own actions…

A thread 🧵: the claim that Israel is apartheid is not only false, it’s also hypocritical and a projection by anti Zionist states who themselves are vehement human rights violators 🧵 continued: In Israel there are no laws of ethnic segregation. There are 2 million Arabs in Israel with full Israeli citizenship, even representatives in the Knesset. That’s more than double the amount of Jews in Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa ejiltalk.org/the-apartheid-…

A lot of misconceptions about Jewish culture come from Hollywood, where non Jews (mostly white) play Jewish characters while actually Jewish actors play the funny side characters. Which not only limits Jewish people as a whole, but also Ashkenazi Jews who don’t fit this ideal Jewish culture isn’t just Yiddish or a religion, ALL diaspora groups have maintained strong cultural ties to our homeland, many communities still speaking Hebrew before it was “revived” to be a common language again. Jewish people are a culture, an ethnicity, and a nation.
