Exactly 1 week in covid ward & these are my observations so far:
- almost ALL young patients (<35 years old) that require high oxygen are obese.
- so far NONE of the patients have fully completed their vaccination (most are unvaccinated & few only completed 1 doses of Sinovac)
- there’s an average of 1-2 deaths in my ward per shift (12H shift)
- the ward is not a pretty place to be in right now. hypoxic patients tend to walk around/ lie in bed naked and go off everywhere. ‘Happy hypoxic’ as we call it
