Hey just a PSA: do not touch people having seizures unless they are in harms way. Holding our heads when we’re convulsing could cause catastrophic permanent injury. Don’t do this!! Sorry but it’s doing numbers and it’s not the right way to support us! Do not touch someone in general if you can avoid it anyway — one consent matters and two like 30% of people with seizures are autistic too.

Do talk to us. Do say it’ll be okay, this is what is happening and what you are doing. Time the seizure on your phone.

Today I am throwing off the fluffy pink coat and putting away the scented candles as I swap from drafting a romance novel to editing my beloved Vivi. In light of that, I’m thinking of doing a what I’ve learned about being a disabled author so far thread. Much of it is cherry picked and taped together from things I’ve learned from other authors and I will endeavour to credit them all as I go! And remember this is just what works for me — one bit might work for you, none might, but I’m sharing in case it works for someone!
