Two weeks ago I raised a number of interventions against the current policing bill because of its discrimination against Gypsies, Roma and Travellers. I got Labour members (on “left” and “right”) telling me “why are you defending these people”. When I first joined parliament I sat in a debate full of racist dog whistles about GRT peoples from Tory and Labour MPs, myself and @LauraPidcock were only a handful to stand up against it in the chamber, no action was taken against these men, no outrage.
