Thoughts re myths about abortion history circulating and what it means for women's history. The first is the Douthatian narrative insisting that the overturning of Roe will somehow now heal rifts in US politics because it was THE issue that splintered them in 1973. No. Legal abortion had relative bipartisan support, neither party outright opposed Roe/abortion at the time and it was not yet the wedge issue that it came to be.

I didn't have time to make coffee first thing like I usually do. I drove one kid to school, completely forgot there was a parent orientation for next year & was halfway home by the time I remembered. Then I thought, "well at least I can run to the pharmacy to drop off this prescription finally."
