People say the state is inefficient. That’s a lie. The state works very efficiently—for some specific people. There are areas where the streets are swept before sunrise, where garbage never piles up, where the drains never overflow. If a tree falls, someone shows up to remove it.If a street cow dies, someone comes before the stink does. The lights don’t go out for long, the hospitals aren’t overcrowded, and the idea of dying from a fever or untreated wound feels absurd.

People love to preach about how loving Lord Ram was toward Sita. That’s probably because they’ve never read verses 15-25 from Sarga 115 of the Yuddha Kanda in the Valmiki Ramayana. Go ahead and read them to see just how 'loving' he really was 🧵 Verse 15 -16

Let it be known to you that this endeavor in the shape of war, which has been successful carried through, due to the strength of my friends was not undertaken for your sake. Let there be prosperity to you! This was done by me in order to keep up my good conduct and to wipe off the evil-speaking from all sides as well as the insinuation on my own illustrious dynasty.Image

Thread 🧵: India’s Waste Crisis—A Dirty Truth No One Wants to Talk About Image 1/10
Let’s face it—India is drowning in trash. Everywhere you look, there’s plastic, wrappers, cans, and piles of junk. People have become desensitized to this filth as if it’s normal. But here’s the truth: it’s not just a cleanliness problem; it’s a social problem. Image

Here’s What’s Seriously Wrong with Laapataa Ladies: 🧵 Image 1. The dialogues are preachy and fail to resemble natural conversations among villagers. The writing feels lazy, as the Brahmin writers try too hard to put progressive dialogues into the movie that don’t fit the characters or setting. The movie compensates for it by relying heavily on drama and manipulative music.

An in-depth analysis of the film "Fandry" directed by @Nagrajmanjule. 🧵 Image Family of Jabya ( Dalit) lives on the outskirts of a village. To make ends meet, the family chases away pigs and also kills them to prevent them from creating nuisance in the village—a task assigned to the Dalit family since upper-caste families consider it unhygienic & impure. This article is the result of a lack of equal representation in the media when it's predominantly controlled by upper castes.

I'm baffled about how this article passed editorial scrutiny, likely due to the overrepresentation of upper castes.

A Thread 🧵 It reads like the worst WhatsApp University propaganda, even for a reputed newspaper.

The entire article is just plain foolish. Nevertheless, I'll highlight some crucial points that are utterly absurd.

1. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 '𝗗𝗿. 𝗔𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗱𝗸𝗮𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝟭𝟬 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀.'

We, as Dalits, are exhausted from repeatedly debunking this misinformation. It seems like the truth is often overlooked.

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗮 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 🧵 :

- Anti-caste doesn't mean we can't speak on caste, it's the opposite.

- Dalits continue to experience atrocities and discrimination; it's not a thing of the past. - Anti-caste doesn't imply refraining from availing Reservations; in fact, Reservations serve as a remedy for caste disparities.

- Being Dalit doesn't mean you have to be poor. However, many still struggle financially because oppressor castes control resources.

Let's understand the contrasting difference between a privileged caste's idea of village and a Dalit's idea of village by analysing views of M.K. Gandhi and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. He proposed that villages should be governed through their traditional leaders, such as sarpanches and panchas (village chiefs and councillors)."

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was not in favour of a fixed time limit of 10 years, even for political reservations for SCs

Without the consent of SCs, political reservation cannot be done away with. The political reservations were a result of ‘mutual agreement’ btwn SCs & caste Hindus. For STs it even more important. So illogical and immature around reservation need to stop.
