How do chromosomes evolve in nature?

Here we present a peculiar case in the sexual planarians, Schmidtea mediterranea. A collaborative work with many in the @leonidkruglyak lab, and @MRiutortUB, @RiutortLab, @Planaria1
biorxiv.org/content/10.110… We sampled chromatin proximity information with HiC and sequenced individually collected chromosomes (ChrSeq). These data were sufficient to turn an earlier genome assembly (481 scaffolds, @rinklab, nature.com/articles/natur…) into chromosomes. ChrSeq gave us high confidence.
