Before Marino returned to Udinese in the 19/20 season, the club had been through five head coaches in 18 months. Since the 19/20 season — Udinese have only had two permanent head coaches (Gotti, Sottil) and have enjoyed the best football consistently since Guidolin There’s even been continuity in the sacking of Gotti, by appointing his assistant Cioffi until the end of the last season. The recruitment has gone up a level under Marino, and the system has been consistent — Gotti, Cioffi and Sotill all playing 352. Wasn’t the case previously

An interview with Ben Manga here — will translate the entire thing into English. bit.ly/3ikWzGs You moved from the CL club Frankfurt to Watford. Why did you dismount voluntarily, Mr. Manga?

“The project in Watford appeals to me. Sometimes you take a step back to get two forward. I believe it's the right decision. I am responsible with a clear goal: promotion to the PL.”

It will take time for Watford to get properly going this season I think. The window being open will have effected the squad, on top of injuries to key players, and having a poor window in general. The squad makeup isn’t built to dominate games in a passing fashion Kayembe can’t pass, Choudhury is a ball winner, Sema and Kamara are 1 v 1 threats. Kabasele, Sierralta, WTE, Hause aren’t ball players — CC probably best suited for that. Joao/Asprilla are high volume pass creators, Sarr a final product player. Bayo a finisher

Watching Middlesbrough today to mainly help @danamalt out. So just going to do a little thread on what I’ve seen/think as to why Boro look pretty abject. The short answer is Neil Warnock, the long answer I’m about to give First of all, this piece highlighting the midfield, or lack of is a good start (sorry to whoever wrote this, I forgot your @ - it’s really good though) neighbourhoodtactician.co.uk/articles/the-c…

Neil Warnock’s #Boro are the strangest team in the Championship for me (Blackburn run them close) I’ve seen them a fair bit this season, and I kinda think they underachieved a bit. Warnock is great at certain things, and has adapted more than people give him credit for (cont) But they seem so dysfunctional as a club on and off the pitch - I’ll elaborate on the pitch. Depending on what site you use (wyscout, infogol - I’ll be using wyscout) Boro’s numbers has them play offs wise, and their numbers seem different from the performances
