As we know the mindless titans eat people to seek out a shifter to turn back. I think that could be due to 2 reasons:
1) It's to escape the endless nightmare they are experiencing (like Ymir (freckles) describes). 2) It's a continuation of following Fritz will as Fritz daughters did, when eating Ymir.
They seem to inherently know that is the solution to their nightmare and/or they blindly follow fritzs order to gain the titan power, without having any kind of power over their own body.

Though not the same king (or tbh situation), I felt it is interesting that we indirectly get to hear what Ymir could have felt like as the founding titan, impacted by kings will, making her feel that the ๐ผ๐ป๐น๐ ๐ฒ๐๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฝ๐ฒ from her suffering is ๐ธ๐ถ๐น๐น๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ฒ๐น๐ณ.
A thread of instances of Mikasa being the antithesis of Ymir and how that plays into Ymirs conclusion. (and Happy Birthday Mikasa!) #MikasaAckerman#Mikasa
A little exploration of the possible reasoning behind this certain depiction of Paths and the Curse of Ymir and their relation to Ymir Fritz.
