Pre-1997, there were zero Muslim MPs in UK Parliament.

By the 2019 General Election, there were 18 Muslim MPs. From the 2019 to 2024 General Election, this increased by 39% to 25 Muslim MPs.

🧵 A thread on the increase of Muslim MPs in UK Parliament. Image 1) Muslim MPs by Political Party

72% of all Muslim MPs are from the Labour Party.

Labour push the Muslim vote.

While Zarah Sultana is now an Independent MP, she was elected as a Labour MP, so at the time of the 2024 General Election, 76% of Muslims came from the Labour Party. Image

There are only 7 countries in the world where blasphemy is punishable by death. All 7 of these are Islamic.

Pakistan is the most dangerous country in the world for blasphemy.

The fact that we are witnessing de facto blasphemy laws for Islam in the UK is of grave concern.

These 7 countries are Pakistan, Iran, (Northern) Nigeria, Mauritania, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan & Brunei.

Islam is the only religion in the world where an individual can be sentenced to death for criticising it.

In 1987, there were just 4 ethnic minority MPs.

There has been a 27% increase in the number of ethnic minority MPs since the 2019 General Election alone, from 66 to 84 MPs.

Some of these MPs, however, push for divisive and anti-British agendas.

🧵 A thread of evidence. Image 1) Blasphemy Laws

Tahir Ali, a Pakistani-Descent MP, called for blasphemy laws in the UK during Islamophobia awareness month (see video below).

The UK does not have blasphemy laws and the police must not pander to religious sensitivities.

When two men recently burnt the Quran in the UK, they were charged with ‘religiously aggravated public order offence’. Is this a de facto Blasphemy Law? As @RupertLowe10 says, “If you don't like the way we do things, you are more than welcome to leave.”
