1/6 Elise Stefanik and I both attended Harvard (she was ahead of me, but many mutual friends). Didn’t know her well at all, but I always had a negative impression of her—my gut told me she was phony and untrustworthy. But people probably thought of us in same vein because we 2/6 were both conservatives (I was a rabble-rousing columnist for The Crimson, ruffled plenty of feathers). The federal government chose six companies to dole out $$ to in a race for a vaccine. One of those companies, Pfizer, said "We don't want your $$, because we don't want to deal with excessive oversight, but we will (2/8) guarantee you a price & even bigger volume of vaccines if you pre-reserve, and you don't have to pay upfront unless the vaccine is shown to be effective/is approved."
