Some thoughts on the Driscoll issue. (thread) This was not an intervention. This is the standard selection process that all metro mayor candidates have to go through everywhere in the country. There is a selection panel consisting of three members of the NEC and two members of the appropriate REC.

Just come out of a 7 hour NEC meeting, so here's what I said about the Forde Report. It is probably a sign it is nuanced and balanced that neither side on the NEC will like everything in it. I personally found the "both sides" discourse on antisemitism really offensive. There's no moral equivalence between factionalism fighting antisemitism and factionalism white washing it.

Labour has long had a system where it can auto-exclude (automatically expel) members for various offences against the party e.g. campaigning for another party, signing another party's nomination papers. Auto-exclusion means no time consuming panel meeting, you just get a letter from the General Secretary expelling you. End of process.

So dasvidaniya, Andrew Murray. I couldn't quite work out how you could go from being a leading member of the Communist Party of Britain in 2016 to immediately working as an adviser to the Labour Party Leader, but then I'm a bit old-fashioned about policing that boundary.
