I know a lot of people in the crypto space, rightfully, want nothing to do with identity and KYC/AML requirements which are used by violent governments to track and control their citizens.

I also think verifiable unique identity (even if pseudoanonymous) is really important.
/1 Distributing market-supported, valuable assets to potential new members as a form of marketing is one of the lowest cost of acquisition models around. Give enough for them to try it out, and if it really is valuable, a significant percentage will hold and buy more.
