This, yeah. "Writing" is not one thing. Every time you're writing, you're trying to do dozens of things at once—constructing a narrative, developing characters, organizing ideas, creating tension, composing prose, tweaking jokes, connecting thematic arcs, etc.
It's basically impossible to do all those things at once. Even on a good day, you're lucky to get one of them right. A well-written piece of literature is going to require multiple passes, and you probably won't get anything done as a writer until you accept that. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
