You’ll know I won the lottery when I disappear from this website and buy this $830,000 home in Prior Lake, MN designed by John Howe, protégé of Frank Lloyd Wright (yes I am a basic bitch) Image

I happened to be in a 400-level journalism class called Mass Communication Law in 2010 when the Citizens United ruling came down, and my professor went on a surprise tirade about it for a half hour. He said it was the beginning of the end of our political system- and at the time I didn’t really understand what he was saying, because I was a kid and had only ever existed in a world with strong campaign finance laws. Now, I think about Dr Brady all the time, and wish I was less hungover in his class back then.

My ex-husband is on disability for a back injury in a red state that already had no expanded Medicaid and if this admin causes him to have to move into my basement I will make J6 look like a baby shower Since this broke containment- he has a lovely girlfriend and they live together, so as long as she hangs in there I don’t have anything to worry about. But I would absolutely do that for the father of my kid who is a decent guy despite my hyperbole

My entire life has been a long string of people visiting where I’m from in the summer, immediately deciding to move there, and then seeing a For Sale sign in the yard in a year. Buddy there’s a reason lmao I’m just crying laughing at this for some reason

I was watching Say Yes To The Dress this morning and Randy was fretting over a nonbinary client who didn’t use gendered pronouns. He cautiously expressed he was nervous about getting it wrong and acknowledged it was new to him. While helping the client, He slipped a couple times and corrected himself. The client assured him they knew he was trying, they were big fans of his, and they appreciated the effort. This casual conversation had me tearing up over my dark roast.

*SKINCARE FOR DUMMIES*

I say this as a beauty junkie- this tweet is 100% accurate. It can be really overwhelming to wade through the ads and misinformation, so I’m putting together a little primer thread on where to start if you don’t know where to start 🧵: Whether or not you wear makeup, you need a gentle cleanser to take the day off your face. Cerave is often recommended because it is inexpensive ($12 at Target) and sensitive skin friendly. Ma:nyo is one of my more affordable favorites from Asian brands ($18 at Ulta) Image

Lots of folks loved the woodwork and character of this condo, and were shocked by the friendly first-timer price tag. But I want to take the opportunity to talk about MN Housing Downpayment Assistance and what a scenario might look like for a buyer using this awesome program: MN Housing is a state-funded loan program that offers a few different income-based options for loans, and it can cover part or all of your down payment and closing costs. The minimum contribution is $1000 and taking a first time homebuyer class. Image

We’ve had an exceptionally wet spring, which means a lot of people are experiencing water seepage in their old basements. You don’t have to live with this, or spend 10s of $1000s to fix it most of the time. Here are some basic ways to improve your wet basement:

Water seeps into your basement when it gets the chance to run down the exterior wall of your foundation. As a home owner, moisture is your enemy. The objective is to keep it away from the foundation to begin with more than worrying about the interior Image

I have a degree in multimedia journalism so I watched the documentary that shall not be named so you don’t have to. It’s an hour and 45 minutes of all the shit you learn you’re not supposed to do when you go to school for journalism Like it’s honestly more heavy handed than I expected- still smooth enough that someone with no media literacy or criticism of law enforcement would definitely accept at face value. But I expected it to be more based on interviews and not blatant footage manipulation

Maybe it’s just because I’m a former hoodlum, but the sheer dumbassery around this fireworks issue is mind-boggling.

Kids have less activities, more free time, less supervision, fewer options for fun. This is one of the most predictable human phenomenons within our existence Oh no, we gutted the after school stuff for kids and closed their parks and made everything inhospitable for hanging out or you have to drive everywhere to get there. We stagnated wages for 40 years and there’s no parent at home. Who could have predicted this???
