🧵: Today is the 75th commemoration of the Nakba—a term used to denote the catastrophic creation of the Israeli state, when Zionist militias ethnically cleansed Palestine & rendered us refugees outside of the borders of our homeland. It should be a household name, but it's not. THREAD: Liberal Zionists are protesting to save the Supreme Court, which they consider a ‘beacon of democracy.’

But is it?

You can find the Supreme Court’s fingerprints on virtually all of the Israeli government’s settler-colonial enterprises & apartheid regime. 🧵 📌 It ruled that the Nation-State Law, which enshrines “Jewish settlement” as a “national value..to encourage,” doesn’t negate the state’s “democratic” character.

📌It repeatedly supported the legality of a law preventing the unification of thousands of Palestinian couples.
