Why was Google autocomplete broken when you searched for “assassination attempt on trump,” and why did a search for “trump rally” show results for a Harris rally?
My take as an ex-Google engineer: AI makes mistakes, but the bias lies in which mistakes get fixed. 🧵
For example, look at how YouTube reacted in 2017 when “Restricted Mode” accidentally restricted LGBT content, angering LGBT creators.
