One of our local Inuk RCMP members in Iqaluit has received death threats on FB for simply being a police officer. He asks that if they have a legit reason to be angry due to an actual act to file a formal complaint but not threaten to kill him or his family. /1
Inuit and police relations have been shaky - since 1950’s when police had to help government enforce policies related to relocation, education, housing, dog management, alcohol, etc.

So this case finally happened … in law school, I asked why the annual payment was never increased or challenged and prof said that it was a hard case because govt other payments.
$4 purchasing power was a lot more 167 years ago … shameful its remained the same all this time.

Another Inuk woman from Iqaluit /Nunavut sent south for medical treatment at risk of becoming homeless in Ottawa if not brought back to Iqaluit ... people with addictions & mental health issues need extra and special supports while on medical travel. /1
