How this is applicable in the defense of modern nations against threats hiding in the shadows and operating with intent to harm, disrupt and destroy: 🧵 1/ Asymmetric warfare is descriptive of conflicts where one side leverages unconventional tactics, technology gaps, or indirect methods to offset a stronger opponent’s conventional military superiority.

Think guerrillas vs. armies, cyber hacks vs. tanks, or proxy forces vs. direct invasions. It’s not new historically, from Vietnam’s tunnels to Afghan mujahideen, but in the modern era, it’s amplified by globalization, tech, and non-state actors who blur lines between war, crime, and terrorism.
