The way I live my life I'm 100% authentic all the time.

Even when I was dirt poor.

Everyone grew up different, I grew up poor and in the South. So I talk country with a little bit of hip hop slang.

That's me. Not everyone who looks like me has the same background.

Many of the black people that I now know grew up from privileged backgrounds & don't speak like me & that's fine.

But the people that are most successful are authentic.

Where code switching comes into play is always....

Quick thread on political climate.

We were the poorest person I knew growing up.

We Iived in abandoned houses, homeless, no heat, no lights, no food...

I was taught that Democrats were good, Republicans were bad.

I joined the military to get the GI Bill so I could go to 2/x

college. In the military I was pretty much brainwashed to be a conservative/Republican.

We are taught that the GOP had the military's back.

Coupled with my religious upbringing I was all in.

I was stationed in Maryland and Michael Steele was the LT Gov at one point
