There is a very nasty iPhone and @TMobile bug where iMessage and FaceTime for a device’s phone number will randomly deactivate and there is no way to reactivate it. The only solution that worked for me is getting a new physical SIM card. An extremely disappointing issue. Another solution flagged to me by some is removing your eSIM account from the iPhone and setting that up again. But that’s complex for most people and shouldn’t need to ever to be done. Not being able to send and receive texts is obviously not ideal. Not “it just works.”

Apple’s first VR/AR headset risks being delayed until 2023 and a planned unveiling at WWDC 2022 could be pushed back after development snags related to overheating, cameras and software. Judge in Epic vs Apple case says she is “inclined” to NOT grant relief for the Fornite removal (as in, to not force Apple to put it back on the App Store,) but IS “inclined” to not let Apple block Epic from developing/distributing Unreal Engine. Inclined is not a decision. Epic’s lawyer: Asking Epic to remove the direct payment to Epic option in Fornite is “really asking us to require consumers to pay more than they should in a competitive environment.”

The screen on my Galaxy Fold review unit is completely broken and unusable just two days in. Hard to know if this is widespread or not. When I tap the screen as well with the top of my finger and the fingernail hits it (very common), it also leaves a seemingly permanent indent. Samsung is going to send a replacement and I’ll share updates.

In January, @tim_cook said Apple is accelerating initiatives to offset the slowed iPhone sales. Perhaps that is why we saw a March event with only 1 of 5 major announcements available today. TV app/channels is May, credit card is summer, video service is fall, gaming is fall. Apple could have held new TV app and channels till WWDC in early June and released that day. Could have tied gaming service to the iPhone 11 in September, certainly was a typical WWDC/developer announcement perfect for June. They even announced macOS 10.15’s TV app early.
