Thread. 1. @pitzercollege has study abroad in Brazil. Read John Lee Anderson in the New Yorker on that country, ruled over by an authoritarian whose rhetoric encourages uncommonly high levels of violence against LGBT people.
2. @pitzercollege has a study abroad in China which is detaining hundreds of thousands of Muslims and subjecting them to abuse and forced labor. Then there's Tibet.
