I will go ahead and say that if you think arguments about equality and dignity necessitate having to say that all kids are equally capable of doing well in school, then you've bought into the lie that intelligence and academic ability are essential determinants of human dignity. It's cruel to make people who don't have the innate whatever do a lot of school in order to make a living. (This is one of the reasons I don't like free college proposals.)

Today we set a record for # of patients seen in our Tumaini Clinic, which serves mental health patients. Some of them were coming for early refills because Christmas is next Friday, but it's an encouraging milestone nonetheless. The other week we drove an hour and a half to do a home visit with one of our patients. Because some patients travel an hour and a half to see us! It was humbling to be reminded about that.

You're probably going to see a lot about this study, so I'm just going to say two things about the methodology now. 1. "Physician race is not coded by the data and is captured from publicly searchable pictures of the physician." They also omitted physicians who are neither black nor white!
