The hot story in conservative Canadian circles today is that the Peel District School Board caved to woke cancel culture by banning books like the Very Hungry Caterpillar and the Diary of Anne Frank.

Let's jump ahead of this one: *this did not happen.* Image According to the linked article, the board has a routine "weeding" of books 15 years or older to check if they're in good condition and up-to-date - tossing out damaged books and the 2009 Guide to Windows XP and whatnot. All books pre-2008 got reviewed.

Uhhh, was everyone else aware that a gang leader who went away for two counts of first-degree murder for organizing two high-profile hits got busted out of jail in Vancouver last August by two guys in a van dressed as contractors and... they never found him? Image I mean I'm not some True Crime News Guys but a double murderer being able to seemingly waltz out of jail with two guys in Mario Brothers disguises and they just... don't know where he went, and now it's 9 months later? Think that'd be bigger news y'know?

1. The Canadian Parliament's voted on two bills that would attempt to limit abortion in some form over the past six years. One motion was supported by 68% of sitting Conservative MPs, and the other by 96% of Conservative MPs.

Let's talk about those bills: 2. Canada's Conservatives outwardly says all the right polite, genteel Canadian pro-choice things. Canadians, after all, are overwhelmingly (70-80%, per polls) pro-choice. But even if Tories can't be overt, they still try to sneak in anti-choice legislation through the back door.

The year is 1935, the height of the Depression. The Toronto Star is undertaking an investigation.

They're offering $15 to whoever can show them the fattest cat in Ontario. Mere days after the contest opens, entries start to roll in with photos and tales of cats that "train on porridge" and hunts rabbits for sport
