One of the most important jobs a bitcoin wallet has is to keep your money safe even when something goes wrong. We’ve been thinking on how to make forgiving, flexible recovery experiences, and want to hear what you think about them. A post and a 🧵.. wallet.build/losing-your-ke… 1/ Any system that keeps assets safe needs to do two things - (1) let you in, but (2) keep everyone else out. From what we’ve learned about bitcoin holders reluctant to make the leap to self-custody, people are more afraid of making mistakes and running into problems with (1).

The wallet is composed of 3 things: a mobile app, a hardware device, and recovery tools.

We've made a decision! We'll power the wallet with a lithium polymer (LiPo) battery, recharged via USB-C. We’ll provide flexibility: when the battery's depleted, the wallet will still work plugged in. Why'd we land here? In practice, a rechargeable battery option minimizes customer hassle and allows us to design the device to look and feel like the future of money.
