Hello Twitter. I have read A Long Way to a Small angry Planet and we need to talk. You ready? Because this is going to be like me, rambling and squeeing and flailing. This book is by Becky Chambers and it is science fiction. It is sprawling and lush and magical. I haven't read a lot of science fiction. I can probably count less than ten books. My poorly researched think piece on the entire genre based on a single book I read will come shortly. No, but really! I brushed this book off b/c it was SF.

As a reader, I have a message for people wanting to write in the categorical genre that is romance. This isn't for the ones who want romantic elements in their stories, but those who market their books to romance readers and trying to break the one rule that rules them all. First off, romance readers are widely read so while you are sitting there thinking that you are going to introduce us to the next hot take in literature, chances are that we've already read it, but thanks for playing. Not me, though. I don't read widely much anymore.
