Conservatives believe that healthy individuals create healthy communities. They constantly talk about individuals for the sake of healthy communities. Libs talk about communities in terms of group rights, the idea being healthy communities create healthy individuals.

The liberal approach means individual problems almost all have systemic causes. Crime is due to systemic injustice of some sort. Education is a funding issue. Homelessness due to capitalism etc… in each case the community is failing the individual. The individual’s choices are rarely questioned or judged. Judging someone’s individual choices is one of the great liberal sins. Control from the top down works best. Collective control for radical individualism.

Conservatives approach the problem from the opposite way. It’s your actions that determine your outcome. You’re homeless because you did X,Y,Z. You’re a criminal because you couldn’t follow the communities rules. You failed school because you refused to do your school work etc… communities are made good or bad by the willingness of the members of that community to take personal responsibility. In short the liberal approach is a radical individualist world view focused on the community’s obligations to the individual, whereas the conservative approach is a community oriented ideology focused on the individual’s obligations to community.

I think if you abducted 100 random Americans shot them with sodium pentathol and asked them what they thought of gay people 80 of them would say something along the lines of, “it’s kinda gross but you do you. I don’t really want to see it, but I don’t really think it’s that big a deal.” In fact I think that’s the default American position on most social issues.

We don’t really want to think about it because we don’t care and we all have our own stuff to deal with. The biggest error the left has made in the last several decades was believing their own cultural messaging. That everyone agrees with their world view. To make these issues front and center, not just in their lives, but as part of all of our lives.

We celebrate every leader our country has ever had in a single day. Do you know what the avg American thinks when any identity group thinks they deserve a month of celebration? Even a day?

They pushed too much, they made too big a deal of it. And now that slowly their media stronghold is slipping, the real opinions are starting to come out. Even those guys who vote blue no matter who are done with it. High on their own supply

One of the funniest discussions involving crime is when activists of whatever stripe point to the dramatic drop in crime in the mid-90s. Abortion advocates pointed to roe v Wade, environmentalists point to unleaded gas, and I’m learning porn advocates point to internet porn.

It could be those, maybe some combination of them, but it was probably the legacy 1994 crime bill that said if you commit three major felonies crimes you get locked away until you die. That bill is why people started to talk about “mass incarceration.” The fact that people don’t connect the massive drop in crime and mass incarceration is intentional by the activists.

It’s because the left actually can’t “imagine themselves as a Haitian.” They just imagine the Haitians are exactly like themselves and have the same motivations and values that the left already holds. The left has always struggled with understanding the motivations of someone if those motivations come from a different value set. It’s probably what the left is the worst at. Could you be born elsewhere is a nonsense question with a definite “no.” Not only would your DNA be different but your experiences would shape you in totally different ways too. Yet you’ll hear lefties say things like “I would have been against slavery” or “I would have stood against Hitler” they can’t wrap their head around how circumstance might completely change who they are.

A truly remarkable case study. She stumbled into a low level judge position by running unopposed. Somehow became the highest paid judge in the state, despite doing low level clerical cases for vital records like wedding certificates. In this role she managed to rack up over 50 ethics complaints and was recommended by a judicial review board for removal from office, this is before she punched a cop. Many of the charges involve her behavior online. She has an Instagram account identifying herself as a judge and posts regularly her cash app asking for donations. She doesn’t see how this is a bad thing for a judge to be doing.

After days of attacking police and burning random buildings across town, as well as their campus’ ROTC building the students lined up and started throwing rocks at the national guard. The national guard started to retreat, the students chased them throwing a barrage of rocks at the armed soldiers who then turned around and fired. They did nothing wrong. “Omg how could the military fire on communist rioters when all they rioters did was chase the military men throwing rocks at them?!”

If you call people a thing long enough they’ll get comfortable identifying with it. I don’t know what these black history majors expected. You label half the country the Klan and they start sending you Klan memes mocking you. There’s so much visceral hatred that men like will produce in the world. It gets filtered down to those without advanced degrees…

Wage theft is a lot like body cams. The far left thought bodycams would catch police killing unarmed suspects and cut down on use of force. Sure sometimes the footage does catch misbehavior, but it mostly shows endless hours of fully justified use of force.

Wage theft claims usually force stricter time keeping methods from companies. Sure you may have felt you were due some OT pay, but the new system flagged you for clocking in 4 mins late three times this week and having a long lunch, here’s your pink slip. This is exactly what I’m talking about. Employees say leaving the building takes 25 mins! We should be paid for that. Amazon times it, it doesn’t take that long, it only takes a few mins. They start timing everything down to the min and employees start getting hit for taking long breaks.

My favorite case is Pervis Payne, who raped and killed a mother and when her two toddlers walked in to see what the screams where he stabbed them too, killing one wounding a second. Multiple eyewitnesses including a police officer saw him enter and exit the apartment, his clothes were covered in her blood, found when he was captured. In the courtroom he tried to explain how he just walked in and found her dying, but he accidentally admitted he got blood on the tops of his shoes when he pushed the victim up against the wall.

The innocence project tried to get him off by testing the murder weapon and several other pieces of evidence. Pervis DNA was found on the tampon ripped out of the victim, and on the murder weapon. The innocence project put out this headline: They then moved to have his death sentence off the table because he’s too low IQ to kill. Believe it or not this worked…

The Innocence Project exists to get killers off of death row. Preferably black killers. Their primary tactic is DNA evidence. They test every object they can, most often objects that were not preserved with DNA in mind and often decades old. If DNA is not found they generate headlines saying “DNA of accused killer not found!” If DNA is found they try different tactics. Another common tactic is finding a Brady violation. A Brady violation is the state withholding evidence that could help the defense. Brady violations are used during appeals all the time. The defense team brings the violation to the court and the state argues either why it’s not relevant or why it’s not legitimate. A normal part of the criminal justice system.

There should be no more damning evidence against material gains equating to better lives. 2009 was during one of the worst recessions weve ever had, yet every quality of life metric has declined. Obesity up, overdoses up, births down, religiosity down…

Learning about the process of genetic screening during pregnancy. It’s a genetic probability based off of the baby’s dna in the mothers blood stream. So not actual detection of the disorders. There’s also a multiplier for maternal age, this leads to false positives. My mother in law had a baby at 37. The doctor called her after the screening to say her child screened positive for Down’s syndrome. Then asked would you like termination options. Angered at the prospect of killing a child because of its disability she demanded to know more.
