I found Ad Astra forgettable in some ways. I guess I had some objections to it, in term of its plot & message.

But the music came on shuffle today and I remembered how enraptured I was during the majority of the screening.

In terms of atmosphere, it had so much going for it... Image The Max Richter soundtrack (a composer I first encountered via @rivatez)... the lighting. The slow, strange pacing. The little details. I may be uncommonly hard to bore, during movies, and so while some friends found it too slow, I really was just enjoying taking it all in.
