Elder Bednar spoke at our Stake Conference yesterday.

A few things that stood out to me... 1) He said he wasn't there to announce anything or to reorganize a stake. He was there bc nearly every week he's somewhere in the world training leadership. And he happened to be in our area this weekend.

Exactly a year ago, I faced my fear, quit Amazon Corporate & embraced a life of self-employment.

1 like = 1 lesson I've learned in the last year. 1/ I quit not to get rich or anything like that.

I quit so my family and I could really commit to our principles and our desired way of living.

I was tired of a steady paycheck getting in the way of that.

How I went to college and graduated in 3 years without any debt or parental assistance.

A thread. My senior year in high school, I was accepted to the University of Texas at Austin. That year (2002) my family's household income was less than $40k.

As an 18 year old, I had about $3,000 to my name.
