I hear stuff like this all.the.time. & ppl often assume I’m vocal bc I’m pushing a personal political agenda. I’m honestly not. It’s bc I’ve found that so many white Christians are just completely & embarrassingly ignorant abt historic traditions outside of white evangelicalism For so many, orthodoxy = a largely white (even if they don’t realize it), Religious Right, Republican version of Christianity

So heresy is functionally defined politically rather than biblically.
