Barnsley recorded a loss of £280k (2019: £3.4m) for 2019/20 season.

The club says it would have broken even but for the impact of the pandemic.

Revenue up from £7.8m to £14.2m thanks mostly to increased TV revenue in the Championship. Barnsley made a profit on player trading of £2.8m.

The accounts (helpfully) show the players bought and sold. The profit on player sales is listed as £6m.

Profits on player trading helped cover an operating loss of £3m.

Barnsley fans, some encouraging words from Cauley Woodrow who says there's more to come following Saturday's play-off semi-final defeat.

"There's a lot to be proud of and it's probably changed my thought process in the future really, what we can achieve in the future as a team." Woodrow:"I think this season’s really proved that against all odds and against what people say and think about you, you can achieve something great."

“We're obviously disappointed now but when we take a step back and look at what we've achieved over this season it's remarkable.”
